Although predominantly a Geotechnical and Materials Consulting
Engineering firm, Palmerton & Parrish offers
specialized services including both Civil Site
Design and Stormwater facilities design on projects that
complement their geotechnical activities.
Fred Palmerton served as Co-Chairman of the City of
Springfield's Stormwater Committee during a time period when
stormwater design ordinances were being formulated in the
mid-1990s. Palmerton & Parrish has been identified as one of
the southwest Missouri Engineering firms with sophisticated
stormwater management capabilities. As an out-growth of the
stormwater activities, the need to provide general civil site
design to facilitate the siting of buildings and setting of
adequate site grades in flood-prone areas has been a natural
progression of project development.
Palmerton & Parrish does not seek Civil Site work projects
on the open market, but rather, concentrates almost exclusively on
projects which have a decided Geotechnical or Stormwater facility
component. The firm is ideally suited for performing work in and
around floodplains. Computer modeling capabilities include Corps
of Engineers (HEC-1, HEC-2, HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS) and Haestad
Methods (Pond Pack and StormCAD) software.
